Happy holidays from Fox News!

They’re at it again, too, and at the same time, they’re securing their horrendous status as being the media wing of the Republican Party!

Indeed, Fox News has brought back the infamous War On Christmas™.

No.

No.

NO!

This year the Fox “News” “anchors” (political activists, baby!) have been up in arms over a move by the city of Santa Monica, California, to ban nativity scenes from public parks.

Wait, we are in America, right?

Yes. Yes, we are.

Not Christianistan.

Regardless of your religious faith—or lack thereof—you must realize something here: You are not alone. Your religion is not the only religion, and your beliefs are not the only right beliefs.

America is not a Christian nation. The Constitution mentions nothing about religion other than this little segment of a sentence found in the First Amendment which the fundamentalists cling to so dearly:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof . . .

Now, let’s go into a nice legal analysis of what the founding fathers wanted this to do.

These sixteen words create a huge wall in American government—a wall between the church and the state. Now, many people (mainly those of the Christian faith) refuse to acknowledge this much. Basically, this law separates church and state.

Now we need to look at the definition of public in a legal sense. In any case where the word is used in a legal sense, it is basically implying the land is owned and operated by a governmental entity, federal, state, or local. Because of this…

Nativity scenes on public parks violate the First Amendment.

Nativity scenes on private property do not.

“In God We Trust” violates the First Amendment.

E pluribus unum” does not.

“I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all” violates the First Amendment.

“I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all” (the original Pledge of Allegiance) does not.

There is no War On Christmas™.

There’s a War In Your Heads.
